Your First Visit

New here? This is how your first appointment works – from registration to examination and treatment plan.

Your First Visit
In short

At the first visit we get to know each other: you fill in the medical history form, we examine teeth, gums and jaw, take X-rays if needed and discuss the findings with you. Bring your health insurance card, your bonus booklet and a list of your medication. Allow about 45 to 60 minutes.

Looking for a dentist in Nuremberg who accepts new patients? We look forward to seeing you – with statutory or private insurance, from St. Peter as well as Südstadt, Gleißhammer, Zerzabelshof or anywhere in Nuremberg. At the practice we speak English, German, Arabic, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian and Bosnian. You can book an appointment online or by phone.

What to bring

  • electronic health insurance card (or proof of insurance for private patients)
  • bonus booklet (Bonusheft) for dental restorations – including older booklets
  • list of medication, allergy or implant card, cardiac ID card if applicable
  • recent X-rays or findings from previous dentists, if available

How the first appointment works

First appointment
  1. RegistrationOur team takes your details; you fill in the health questionnaire at your leisure in the waiting area.
  2. ConsultationWhat brings you to us? Do you have symptoms, wishes or worries – including fear of the dentist? Tell us.
  3. ExaminationWe check teeth, fillings, restorations, gums, oral mucosa and jaw joints.
  4. X-rays if neededonly when medically useful, with modern low-radiation technology.
  5. Findings and planWe explain the findings clearly and discuss treatment options, sequence and costs.

What does health insurance cover?

For patients with German statutory insurance, the dental examination is covered twice a calendar year and tartar removal once a year. X-rays are covered when medically necessary. For services beyond that – such as professional teeth cleaning – we always tell you the costs in advance.

Acute complaints

Are you in acute pain? Then please call us directly (0911 554181) – we will find a short-notice appointment. Outside opening hours the dental emergency service can help.

Afraid of the dentist?

Then your first appointment with us is just a conversation – if you wish. We take our time, explain every step and agree on a stop signal. More on our page for anxious patients.
