Veneers: Who Are They Suitable For?

Wafer-thin ceramic shells for a harmonious smile: when veneers are suitable, how they are made and what you should know.

Veneers: Who Are They Suitable For?

Veneers are thin ceramic shells that are bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They can correct shape, colour and minor misalignments – and are considered a particularly aesthetic option.

In short

Veneers are suitable for discoloured, worn or irregularly shaped front teeth and small gaps. Depending on the starting situation, the enamel is reshaped only minimally or not at all. With good care, ceramic veneers often last many years. They are a private service that you pay for yourself.

When veneers make sense

  • discolouration that cannot be removed by bleaching
  • chipped or worn biting edges
  • small gaps or uneven tooth shapes

When they are less suitable

  • heavy, untreated teeth grinding
  • major misalignments (orthodontic correction often makes more sense here)
  • untreated tooth decay or periodontitis

Frequently asked questions

Can veneers be removed again?

If tooth structure has been removed, this is not possible without a new restoration. That is why we plan particularly carefully.

Do veneers become discoloured?

Ceramic is very colour-stable. Coffee or tea hardly leave any stains.
